Gardener + TV + Internet + Cable lines = Disaster
As part of a surprise for my Dad getting out of hospital, we'd been having the garden done. Unfortunately it didnt dawn on anyone to point out there was a cable going under the lawn; which was rotovated. Which was a problem. I think in total it took out about 5m of said cable.
Its days like I've been having this week, that are really making me considering moving the blog to another box - one in a proper datacentre, not a machine in my house.
Gardners aren't very good with cables... or cable fitters aren't very good in garderns, our gardners cut the telephone cable for the whole block a few years back with a strimmer. It took forever for BT to find what the problem was because there wasn't any errors at the exchange, cable ingrity was fine right upto the last service box... wasn't until they un-earthed the cable all the way upto the wall of the block that they found the cable had been strimmed.
On a slight side-note: I can offer you free hosting for the next year or so... however long my hosting account has left with Dreamhost. Free domain transfers etc. Give me a shout if you remotely interested.
