Joy in the family

Usually I don't like to shout about personal and family matters, but today is a good day as my Dad has been pronounced "cured" from cancer. He's still in isolation after getting an infection, but once thats sorted he should be free to live a normal life. Well, as normal as someone with a depleted immune system can live.

I just hope that they're sure this time.

The Easter Bunny hates YOU

The LUGRadio Community Rocks

No, I'm not talking about something thats going to be sold at LRL06. The LUGRadio community really does rock. Although I subscribe to my local LUG's mailing list, I don't actually attend meetings (I'm shy and don't like meeting new people, and that it seems like a really close knit group of people). The fact that the LUGRadio community talks on IRC and forums really attracted me, and I'm starting to feel like a bit of a member. Today was a big step for me, where avantman42 (AKA Russ, from OOoMacro's and LUGRadio fame) gave me a massive amount of tips, pointers and URL's, on being more clued up regarding hardware and electronics.

I'm really starting to feel like part of a new group, which I've not experienced for a long, long time (since joining #php on irc.netgamers.org). It gives you that warm, fuzzy feeling. Of course, it could be the several bottles of beer I've consumed as well.

13, unlucky for some?

It's LUGradio Season 3, episode 13. It's been released to the mirror network early, so expect to beable to grab your copies earlier than usual, tomorrow (Monday 9th April 2006) :D

So download away and piss yourselves laughing at the classic british comedy.

Tomb Raider - Legends

Tomb Raider Legends. What can I say. Again, Lara is an upto date beautiful polygon woman with great animation sequences - both in the cut scenes and in game. The story (so far), is quite good and has given the character a real depth. Unfortunately the one thing that still pisses me off is the movement system. Since its third person, its always going to be tricky and the Tomb Raider series have been no exception. Various people have tried to tell me to keep at it, but 6 games down the line I still cant get the hang of it properly, despite the tweaks the developers have made. This has led me to falling off things quite regularly - which is annoying.

Overall its a good game, but I'm not sure I'm going to go back to it again. Its reminded me why I tend to only play multiplayer games; the whole social thing.
