You have been eaten by a grue

So I was planning on putting the car away last night. Take it around to the garage, but the key won't go into the lock. Strange I thought. Went to the car to check it was the right key. It was. Go back to the lock.

Something is definately in there.

To my annoyance some fucking cockend appears to have put glue into the fucking lock. Swift hack sawing and a new lock later all is well. But that's hardly the point.

More annoyingly mine was the only one done. Great. Wonder who I've inadvertently pissed off now.

Doin' the whole healthy eating thing.. or not

So I'd prepared myself a relatively healthy meal, and I took it upstairs to eat (as usual), only I never got to eat it. Approaching my desk the plate wobbled and I lost the entire fucking lot all over the floor. What was worse was that I wasn't even able to eat it (3 second rule - more like 3 minutes!) as the plate shattered. Fucking awesome.

More irritatingly was that it took me the best part of an hour or so in total to prepare and then clean up the aftermath, and by that time I was bloodly starving. So I resorted to having an entire pizza. Now I honestly wish I hadn't.

Guess I'm gonna have to make up for it tomorrow.. maybe. So why did I decide to share this with the world? So that I'm accountable. It's gonna be the only way I actually make a difference in my my diet, I think.

The pain of tracking numbers

I just seem to be living out various cartoon storylines at the moment. Notably I'm now obsessed with refreshing the status on a parcel I have coming. I can clearly see its not here yet, and knowing just when it gets from Turkey to Belgium, in order to be sorted to come to the UK isn't going to make it get here any faster.. so why do they do this to you? It's addictive and destructive.

When this one arrives I might setup an exchange where by members of a particular social network post each other items, with a tracking number, just to satisfy each other's habit. I'm sure there are others out there who are like me.

I hope.

Certification

Very recently I got an update, via email from Microsoft, stating that Prometric were going to be the sole examination body for all Microsoft certification.

This presented me with somewhat of a problem as I still want to take the various LPIC, as well as Microsoft and other exams this year, and spreading them across multiple bodies would be really irritating; more people to chase, more confusion, etc. However, even more irritatingly the nearest Prometric test centre (with the exams I want to take) can be found in Swindon - that's about 40 miles away from where I live. Whilst not a huge problem that does represent a waste of a day traveling and taking the exam(s). Pearson Vue are still honouring any test appointments for the near future, but my experience with them was... well shall we say less than impressive.

However, it looks like Prometric are acknowledging this, and are [supposedly] increasing their speed at producing more test locations, with the aim for "no candidate needing to travel more than 30 miles". Fingers crossed..

The whole keeping fit thing.. again

I've pretty much fallen out of step with keeping fit the last few months, what with other things playing on my mind. I've turned to old, and new comforts. Eating crap being a new one, which I'm honestly not happy with in the least.

Now I'm not getting tubby as such, but I can see it starting to go that way, and my fitness is somewhat questionable again. So what am I going to do about it? Starting tomorrow;

  • Less shit (biscuits, pizza, "chicken man")
  • Less alcohol
  • More usage of old comforts
  • More Wii playing

I have the various rewards set out, and the goals I want to reach to receive said rewards. I'm also going to give myself a time frame of Christmas to be where I want to, in terms of regularly exercising, and so on.

Here goes (again).
