It seems that the php.net website has implemented some soundex-esque system. It doesnt seem to be have any filtering on it at all, so you can get some rather interesting results;

php.net/cunt -> php.net/count
php.net/fuck -> php.net/faq
php.net/dildo -> php.net/delete
php.net/nude -> php.net/newt

I'm so tempted to google bomb at least one of those, the childish person that I am.

Comment and trackback spam sucks. A swift

delete from comments where type = 'TRACKBACK';

quickly sorts it, in my case (I couldnt give two shits about a trackback). Although its bloodly annoying to have to resort to that. Thankfully it looks like the s9y 1.0 release has fixed the bugs with the Spam Protector plugin.

LUGRadio Live 2006 is only 5 weeks away! I promise this to be the quasi-final pimping, but if you love having fun with your open source then LRL06 is going to be the best place to be in the UK this summer. Where did I go?

Gardener + TV + Internet + Cable lines = Disaster

As part of a surprise for my Dad getting out of hospital, we'd been having the garden done. Unfortunately it didnt dawn on anyone to point out there was a cable going under the lawn; which was rotovated. Which was a problem. I think in total it took out about 5m of said cable.

Its days like I've been having this week, that are really making me considering moving the blog to another box - one in a proper datacentre, not a machine in my house.

Learn to spell

Now I know my English isn't amazing; which it should be considering I'm natively English. However, what really annoys me is when people use the words "whit" instead of "with", "u" instead of "you", etc. etc.

Yes, I'm pendantic. No, I'm not perfect (but at least I try to get things vaguely correct). Yes, I find it fucking annoying. I just wish that the bastards would stop consciously making these spelling mistakes. Its not cool.
